Tess led the lame warmblood down the trail while Dustin led Cruize. It was a good time anyway, because they got the chance to chat.
"Soo..." said Tess, clenching her teeth from the pain of her shoulder. "What are your plans for the future?"
Tess drifted off into her own world for a couple of minutes,
"I want to become a real horse trainer. Now that I've found out my sister is in town - I don't want to leave! Bearing in mind, I don't think I am a gifted horsewoman, or so to speak. I don't think there are any gifted horsewomen or men, but people who have a dedication to horses."
Tess glanced at Dustin for some time.

Dustin walked beside Tess with Cruize on the outer, so he wasn't too close to the other stallion, He kept an eye on Cruize and wondered if he'd go lame his muscles weren't ready for the run that he'd been asked to do.
Dustin sighed at Tess's question i wanna have my own ranch, train stockhorses or something like that, might even give thoroughbreds another go, he won a bit of money during his career..
Dustin listened to Tess speak again, it was interesting, he nodded once she'd finished and decided to speak also. i don't know, some people are gifted, they understand a horse and everything it does and doesn't do, those are the people who can really train horses the best.

"It's funny but..." replied Tess. "I don't think that's the case; A person learns to understand what a horse does and doesn't do. It isn't a gift, but again. Not all things can be taught,"
She paused and looked longingly at her injured horse.
"The strong allience between a horse and rider is the gift. You understand your own horse. And sometimes, no one else can. That is like me and Teds. With his previous owners, Teds went nuts. But he stays calm with me, sometimes he paws and nods his head. But he never does wrong. He understands I want him to behave, so he does. I just.. I want to stress that a horse does well because he chooses too. Not because of the owner, because of his own heart. And thats why some horses will never be fixed, they have a mean heart."

Dustin nodded yea gotta agree with that one, some just understand better. He put the reign over Cruize's head and let him walk on his own, it wasn't like he was gonna take off or anything, Cruize wasn't like that, not anymore anyway.
Dustin nodded his head, he didn't have any more to say soo he agreed, which he really did, partly the reason he had nothing to say.

Dustin and Tess had arrived at the car, and fortunately Dustin owned a two horse float. First he loaded Cruize, who was still breathing heavily with exhaustion. And second Dustin led Teds into the float, since Tess was in so much pain now. They drove slowly to the hospital, and Dustin took care over every bump for Tess's shoulder. At the hospital, Tess went straight into the x ray unit. And ten minutes later, doctors were putting her right arm up in a sling. "You have fractured your collarbone," said the doctor with a thick Asian accent. "You will need to keep your arm in a sling for five weeks... and I'm afraid rehabilitation will take longer. That horse of yours may need another carer for now." It wasn't long before Tess was fuming. She couldn't understand how Teds had hit a pothole, the track was clear! She wondered if it was how she fell. Tess learned how to fall off a horse properly, to roll. So how did she break her collarbone? Tess walked slowly out of the hospital and noticed Dustin wasn't there anymore. Where is he?

Dustin was careful when he loaded the horses on the float, Cruize had always floated easily and was glad when Teds wasn't a hassle to load, it bugged him when horses wouldn't get on floats. When he got in the car, He took care not to go over any bumps, he usually sped along unless he had a float or someone was hurt, the second one wasn't often. After dropping Tess off at the hospital, Dustin drove back to the barn and unloaded the two horses, He put them both in separate stalls then un-hitched the float from his car..
Dustin drove back to the hospital to see Tess with her arm in a sling, he pulled over next to her and opened the passenger door. sorry, i took the horses back so they wouldn't have to stand in the float.

"Ohh smart idea," said Tess, and as genuine as possible, "I must say, thank you so much Dustin - you have been absolutely awesome today. I don't know what I would've done without you." Tess hoped Teds was safe and sound in his stall but she knew Dustin would have took good care of him. The man was smart to have taken the hanoverian back to the stall, standing in the float - he could have got injured even more. Which would be devastating to both of them.
There was some quiet before Tess whispered,
"You know... how I said. There were no real gifted horsemen."
She paused.
"I take that back."

Dustin started Driving again, cars where starting to stop behind him, As he drove he shrugged Don't worry about it, i don't mind helping out a friend, something i need here..and I'm sure you would've figured something out.. He checked Behind and around him Before putting his foot on the accelerator and letting the car speed up a great Deal. Dustin listened to Tess's next comment, he glanced at her quickly then focused back on the road, He'd only crashed a few times the whole time he'd been driving, but those where while drag racing, and he wasn't going to do that with someone else in the car.. Don't change your mind for anyone, if you don't believe that there are true horsemen then you don't have to change..what made you change your mind?
