-I've helped out/trained a horse who was badly abused and hadn't been ridden in a few years (she used to be a GP Dressage horse) to recover and teach little kids basic riding now.Roleplay Example:
-I train my doggy. When she came to us she used to bark and chase cars and birds and she couldn't walk down the street. Now we can walk wherever and she doesn't mind cars. xD
-I've switched a horse who was used to riding Western everyday to an English pleasure horse for a show (he got 1st, too.)
[This is taken from a different horse RP that I'm on where I'm the horse trainer. You've been warned of the length. ]
Easy now, sweetie. Asia spoke softly, her hand placed gently on the mare's neck. She had recently given the mare the name of Taco, for no reason once so ever. It just fit for some reason. As far as Asia knew, she was alone. No one else was currently around Wellington, which wasn't suprising for how late at night it was. Her crimmped hair was in a loose pony tail with her right half bangs covering one of her eyes. Though it was oddly cold, she wore a plain orange t-shirt, after she had been told the color looked good on her. In responce, she had just grinned and shook her head. Orange wasn't normally her color, but apparently it was to her father. Her pants weren't anything special, as suprising as that was. Just normal jeans, which flowed down to her barn shoes. She looked pretty normal here. It was really the only place she did look normal around.
Gently, Asia's hand slid up the mare's neck and onto her face. She was ready for some sort of stubborn reaction from the mare that had already bitten her a few times this evening. It was suprising that her hand was currently being ignored, which made her grin for a moment. Good girl! Was her next reaction, rubbing her neck lightly before handing her a cookie. She always wanted to make sure that the horses knew there was some sort of treat after behaving well. Making a big deal out of every little thing that Taco did correctly was just a start.
A breeze came through the open barn door, causing Asia to shiver. It was getting pretty cold, and the sun had gone down many hours ago. The light was now cast over by bright lights hung above the stall, which had taken Taco a bit to get used to. But she was fine now, much to Asia's enjoyment. Even in just a few hours, the mare had made some much progress. It was amazing, in her opinion.
After feeding the horse one more cookie, Asia allowed the horse to go back to her feed in her temporary stall. Soon she would be moved outside in the pasture, and known as Asia's project horse, she would be respected by the other members of Wellington quickly. It wasn't that that she was worried about. The woman was a bit more worried about the other mares, knowing that they weren't just too accepting.
Knowing that her own horse would be expecting her, Asia was heading over to Talat's stall when she stopped in her tracks. A noise, in the border arena. But no one else was here, so it couldn't be anyone else. She turned on her heel and walked to the indoor arena, peeking around the corner for a few moments before discovering that no one else was there. No one, but something sure was. In fact, she quickly reconized the horse named Alegra nosing around in the arena. Was she left there? Did she escape and trot in there herself? Asia walked slowly into the arena, her hand outstreached to the mare she knew quite well. Allie, which was an odd nickname for the mare, stopped in her tracks and faced Asia slowly. Her brown eyes looked at her fearfully, though Asia had no idea why. Allie, come on. It's just me, remember?
The mare took a few steps back before she reared, lucky enough for Asia. She didn't even catch her breath before she grabbed the lead rope she now noticed hanging from Allie's halter. She quickly pulled, not to hard but hard enough to get a point across, and the moment she had stopped rearing Asia started turning her in tight circles. What was up with the mare? She had to tell Tammy about this tomorrow, because something sure was up. But Allie couldn't be getting abused. Though Asia had never met the mare's owners before, anyone with a mare like this one would have to be pretty amazing. But if she wasn't being abused, why did she have on a halter and lead rope and was loose in the arena? There wasn't another human here, after all. Was this even Allie? I'd know Allie's face anywhere, and that's it. The woman told herself while gently stroking the mare's neck in a calming way. Asia herself would have to check this out tomorrow. After all, if you want anything done right you have to do it yourself.
