Buying, Showing and Winning the Cheval Cavallo way
Cheval Cavallo is potentially going to have a new and unique system put into place! It will offer an opportunity to compete and work with other members of the forum and hopefully generate purpose and from that achievement into the game.
Currently the way we work is that one member’s human character buys another member’s horse character and after that the pair will role-play different plots and stories until the cows come home. This is great but admittedly lacks any aim or purpose. Because of this we are proposing a new system. The following will attempt to describe it in a clear and concise way. (Ha!) This is also the opportunity for members to put their views, questions and opinions across so that we can take them into consideration.
So are you curious? Of course you are!
For the sake of helping you to understand the concept of this I am going to introduce you to some pretend members and their characters.
First we have Member 1 who plays a human Character called George.
We also have Member 2 who plays a (domestic) horse character called Patch.
So here we begin…
One day Patch the horse is put up for sale on the ‘Auction House’ board. Member 1 decides that their human character George is going to buy Patch and fortunately is successful in doing so. What we now have is what we will refer to as a role-play combination, (a pair of members if you like.) Member 1 and Member 2 now have to work together to improve on their combined role-playing style which can be done on the Espoir Estate boards. This is because they can now enter shows and tests together! This introduces three new concepts to the game; Levels, Tests and Shows / Competitions.
Levels
All new Role-play combinations start at Level 0 regardless of previous levels reached when role-playing with different members. For example George may have reached Level 6 with a different members Horse and Patchy may have reached level 4 but because they are a new combination they start at Level 0.
We intend to have 10 Levels - Level 0 being very basic and Level 10 being advanced. To move up levels combinations have to apply to take a test.
Tests
Tests are to be run on Cheval Cavallo at specific times; this could be every six real-life weeks or at the end of every month etc. Tests enable players to move up levels. To enter a test combinations must apply before the closing date otherwise they will have to wait for the next test season.
Tests are run for different role play levels and hence demand different skill levels. Despite this they all hold the same structure. A test will require four posts in all – two from each member. In general tests will give the combination a plot to role-play out; this could be anything from role-playing a horse-spooking at a fallen tree to a clear-round at the local show. (It will change with each season like real exams!)
In order to pass the combination must show the role-play skill expected of players from the next level. Once all posts have been completed the role-play will be judged by a member of staff. Each level test will have a check-list and the combination will have to score a certain amount of points out of the total in order to pass.
As the pair progress they can work up the levels to the top!
Shows
Shows run in a very similar way but instead of the role-play being judged in accordance to a check-list it will be judged in accordance to other player’s entries. (This means that you do not have to role-play getting a clear round etc. otherwise everyone would!)
Combinations can only enter shows for their role-play level. For example a show jumping competition for players at a Level Two role-play standard. Of course winning competition means prizes which can be money, pictures or account titles. The prizes increase with levels.
We will also hold open-for-all shows in which all combinations, regardless of levels, can enter. As well as this we will have a show climax which is a show that is only held once every six months. It will have a snazzy name no doubt and the winner will hold the title for the next six months.

I do believe that that is pretty much it! We would really love to know opinions so please post below! Please remember that this is currently an idea that we have for the game.
