Exams are used on Cheval Cavallo to give something for members to work towards; they occur seasonally and have to be applied for in advance.
This is how the process works...
A combination is a pair of members who between them play a horse and its rider. For example, Member 1 may play a human character called Jill and the Member 2 may play a horse called Fluffy. Together they are known as a role-play combination and are able to apply for exams to work up through the levels 0 – 10. All new combinations start at Level 0 regardless of previous levels reached.
Like shows, exams are optional but passing means that players can enter higher level shows and thus win larger prizes.
To enter an exam, entrants must apply by following instructions given by the Staff at the time of release. To enter an exam, combinations must be at the level below the exam for which they wish to apply. So in order to complete a level six exam entrants must have attained a level five between them etc.
Exams come in the form of a set topic. Entrants will have the choice between four different ‘themes’ which will vary with each exam season.
How to complete an exam
Exceptions
For members who own their own horse - as in the combination is both played by the same member, exams are to be completed by using one post. It will need to consist of four clearly marked parts two from the humans view point and the other two from the horse. Please include 'SM' (Single Member) in the title of your post. (i.e. SM George and Star (a / b / c / d))

How to complete an exam
- Entrants are to create a thread in the level exam that they wish to take. The title must only be the name of the rider and horse. For example: George and Star and the letter of their chosen topic (a, b, c or d) in brackets. (Please ensure that the name of the horse is its registered name and not its stable name!)
No - >>>>>> George and ****S*T*A*R **** A<<<<<<
No - GeOrGe and S T A R b
No - George and Star! (D) =) etc.
Just - George and Star (a / b / c / d) - The role-play must consist of four posts - two from each member. Once completed the thread will be locked and members will not be able to edit their posts.
- Using a mark scheme Staff will decide whether the combination passes or not- we do not accept bribes! So make sure you try your best!
- Players will be docked marks is they include assumptions of passing in their post.
- Marks will be docked if the players do not stick to the chosen topic.
- Disqualification will occur for any incident of plagiarism during the role-play – e.g. editing other entrants’ posts.
