The sun was hot as the mare trotted lightly into the terra, gray coat gleaming in the afternoon light. She halted near the edge of the glade, opticals scanning the new place for any sign of life. Tiara was raised as nostrils flared, taking in new scents. A loud whinny was let loose to let all know she was here. She would wait and see if any came to greet her. Surely the stallion of these lands would hear her call and investigate.

It was afternoon when the horse's call rang through the land. Valentino had been resting under the shade of the trees, near the river. It was only early summer, but the sun still had a bite to it. However, when he heard the foreign horse he needed to investigate. He had only been leader of the Glades for a week or so, but he didn't want to lose it by a stallion who came wandering by.
The black horse followed the sound of the call and the scent of the horse. It was on the edge of the boundary when he came across the grey horse. He kept a distance between the two of them, knowing full-well not to trust an unknown horse.
"Hello there!" Valentino called out. "What brings you here?"
OOC: I'll be leaving the country tomorrow and won't be able to reply to this thread until the 20th or the 21st. Sorry about that.

Optics turned as a dark stag made his way toward her. Auds perked as he spoke, taking in his words. Dial dipped slightly in greeting, for surely this must be the ruler here. "Greetings. I have come seeking a new home. Have I come to the right place, or shall I move on?" She did not mention her name, for the stallion had neglected to mention his, as well. Aria would wait until she knew his intentions before introducting herself. After all, she was new here, and one never knew what to expect from those you have never met before. This was also a new place, and who knew what it may hold. It could be paradise, or perhaps hell. She'd seen a little of both over the past few years, and she waited patiently to find out where on the spectrum this place would lie. ooc: gave me time to work on it, lol

It was merely a horse seeking a new home. It was the position Valentino had been in not that long ago. To be honest, he'd been on his own for too long.
"You may join me in my lands for however long you want. Call it your home if you wish," the stallion said. He turned away to walk back to his shaded spot before remembering one last thing.
"Call me Valentino."

"And I am Aria." It was all she said as she watched the stallion walk away. What an odd brute. He seemed to have no interest in those living within his borders. How very interesting. Her gaze was soon turned to her surroundings, thinking she would soon need to find a place to spend the night. The afternoon was waning and night would soon be upon them. Around here, who knew what creatures may be lurking in the dark.
