The short blonde waded through the mass of people in front of the bar. It was about eleven at night and the place was in full swing, music blasting and people dancing as drinks were ordered, passed, and quickly downed. She bumped into more than a few people, but finally made it to the counter. "X-Rated and Sprite." She almost had to shout over the music to be heard. It was incredibly loud in here tonight, but then again, it was a Friday night and a lot of people had been paid today. Still, it seemed like the whole town was here. Lily bobbed her head to the beat as she waited for her drink, the crystals on her blue halter top shining in the stage lights. Her dark wash jeans were tight fitting, but comfortable--oh the wonder of spandex. Just 3% could mean the world in fit.

Dustin walked into the club, looking around him at all the people, He took a quick second to check the time. When his Boss moved him to night shift, he said he couldn't be late, he never said don't come to work drunk, besides he wasn't the only person to show up Friday after a party. Without much car he pushed past a few guys so he could get to the bar. Dustin thought about it but then let the bartender chose what drink to get, He'd stay here until about 1 then drive home get changed and go to work for his 2am start. Dustin turned his head and realized hed placed himself beside a pretty blonde, he offered his hand to shake "Hey I'm Dustin." The fact he had to shout to get the words across made him frown, he never like having to yell at people.

She had just received her drink and was thanking the bartender when a hand appeared beside her. Turning her head, she saw a young man about her height. He had really nice green eyes and a pretty good build. Not bad, not bad at all. she thought. Extending her hand in turn, she introduced herself, leaning forward slightly so she didn't have to shout so loudly. "I'm Lily." She didn't know what else to say. Lily didn't have a lot of experience with those of the male gender beyond beating them in sports, and at times her conversational skills with them weren't all that great. Then again, she thought it would be fun to get to know a few guys in Aura Valley. She'd been here a little more than a year and the only people she knew were girls. Turning her attention back to the gentleman, she thought about his age. He seemed younger, maybe nineteen, twenty? Then again, she was never that great with age, either. Either way, he was handsome, and he seemed friendly. ooc: yays! posty posty...i missed it so much!

ooc: my posts aren't that good coz I'm a little rusty..i havent rped for months lol.
Dustin smiled as she introduced herself as Lily, he hadn't been there for long and if they made friends, she'd be his first friend in Aura Valley. Dustin had come here to the club, to meet people, he liked to be 'in the crowd' and know everyone, so the club seemed like the right place to go on a Friday night. Dustin took a sip from his drink as soon as the bartender gave it to him mm Jim Beam and cola.
Turning his attention back to Lily Dustin grinned "he chose a good drink" He shrugged and took a few mouthfuls before gulping his drink down. soo, What do you Enjoy doing? i love partying..

ooc: your first post was awesome, don't worry about it. and this post is pretty good, too. you'll get back into the swing of things
Lily sipped her drink as he did, enjoying the berry taste. She wasn't a big fan of alcohol, and it was easy for her to taste, but she had found a few drinks in the last year that she really liked. So he let the bartender choose his drink, interesting.
"I like to ride horses and read books. Not much of a partier. Doesn't mean I don't get out every now and then, though. I mean, I don't normally like going to a bar by myself, but I thought it would be nice to relax a bit and get out for a while." She hoped she wasn't blabbering. She was usually a quiet, keep-to-herself kind of girl, so she wasn't always very good at conversation.

Dustin Watched Lily drink as he ordered another drink for himself, he was lucky, unlike some other people he'd known who couldn't handle their alcohol, a few drinks and they'd make a complete fool of themselves. The worst thing Dustin did when he was drunk was smother people with hugs which was hardly embarrassing, and the girls loved it anyway, although some sober guys never really appreciated it.
Dustin faced Lily once she started to talk, he listened carefully and looked genuinely interested to hear about her. "horses huh, I've ridden horses before, well before i went to the city... And how can you not like to party, its the best thing on a Friday night, it gets me hyped up before work. And if i don't have work on the Friday the best thing is to party through Friday night and stop on Sunday.." Dustin grabbed his second drink and had a mouthful before resting it beside him "are you from around here?"

"I've ridden all my life, and I'm usually a bit shy, so the party crowd isn't really for me. Not to mention I can't handle my alcohol. One and I'm tipsy, two and I'm drunk, three and I'm gone." She smiled cynically. It was true, she didn't drink often because she didn't like being drunk. Buzzed was okay, but she didn't like being drunk. "Not originally. I moved here about a year and a half ago. I'm originally from the Chicago area, kinda." Lily took another drink, then rested her glass on the bar.
ooc: Sorry, I am SO tired.

Dustin laughed slightly when she mentioned not handling her alcohol, he smiled and decided to wait a little longer before having more of his drink. Before speaking again Dustin waited for her to finish. i used to work on a ranch with my older brother, it was an annoying job with bad pay, but at least i got to ride a horse, i had the most lovely paint Quarter horse mare, she was great to ride...most of the time anyway. Dustin thought about the mare, who'd be riding her now and what is she doing? it had never occurred to him before, he hoped she was alright.
Dustin snapped out of his daze in time to hear her say she'd been here a year and a half, he thought about that for a few minutes then it finally registered in his head. Dustin frowned at himself and had another mouthful of his drink. i got here like 2 weeks ago but i spent that time finding a house and job, so i haven't really meet anyone, until now..

She listened as he spoke, taking sips of her drink every now and then. So he was new in town, too. There were a lot of new people lately. "Ya, I haven't really started meeting new people until lately. Like I said, I'm a bit reserved, and it's definitely my downfall." She processed the rest of his information. "A ranch, huh? That's pretty cool. Where at?" Lily was genuinely interested. She'd always thought it would be cool to work a ranch.

Dustin listened to Lily again, how could she be here for 1 1/2 years and not know many people?? It had Dustin Dumbfounded, if it was him he'd know the whole town, but he had to remember, not everyone had his personality. He thought about the ranch, but couldn't quite remember where it was, what was the place before the city?.. He frowned before finally shrugging i can't remember, all i can remember was it was near the mountains, ive been to quite a few places.. It was true, Dustin like to travel, 'coz That meant he'd meet new people and that was his favourite thing..

"That's cool. I love the mountains of Colorado. I've been skiing there a few times. I'm not much of a traveler, although I wish I could be. I'd love to see so many places, but I like having roots a little too much. It would be more fun to travel with friends, though, and I don't have many." She was starting to blabber, which meant the liquor, which was nearly gone by now, was starting to affect her. Maybe she should have eaten a little than she had. Turning to the bartender, she motioned that she'd like another drink. This would be her last, she assured herself. and she'd drink it a little more slowly.

Dustin smiled yeah it certainly is nice up in the mountains..And you should travel, it really is great..i went to Australia for a bit and i had fun there as well, my brother took me 'coz he had work there. Dustin Couldn't look at his drink any longer so he picked it up and sculled his second Drink, his gaze moving to Lily wow she must think im some sorta alcho or something.. He decided to slow down on the drink and drink his 3rd slowly instead of gulping it down..which also meant staying away from any sculling competitions, that would be the toughest bit.

ooc: i need to get used to some of your aussie words, rofl...i'm figuring it out tho
Lily listened to Dustin as she got her second drink. Sometimes she wished she could drink a little more, but it's just the way she was. Besides, in the USA the legal drinking age was 21. So she'd only been drinking for about a year. At least legally.
"I've always wanted to go to Australia. I thought it would be cool to see. But there's no way I'm going to be able to afford a trip anytime soon. My job doesn't pay all that well and I just bought a horse. And with gas prices going up and the economy going down, there's no telling how much a real vacation might cost me." Now that she thought about it, though, it had been years since she'd taken more than a weekend off of work to go somewhere. Maybe she'd have to think about planning a trip.
"Why don't we grab a seat somewhere. I don't want to embarass myself and fall on my face if I drink too much. These heels never were too kind to me, especially when I drink. I just where them cuz it's sexy." She laughed a little and smiled. It was true, and the liquor was making her speak the truth. She'd been sipping on her drink between sentences, and the glass was nearly half gone already. She really had to slow down.

ooc- hehe lol
Dustin Gulped down another drink, sometimes he wished he could have a few drinks and be drunk other times he was glad that it took alot for him to get that way, but at times like this, when he paying for it, it would just be easier. yea Australia's nice, but not everyone has that accent that you hear on TV. He listened to lily again as she mentioned a table and her comment about the shoes made him laugh. sound like you've already had a bit to drink, and sure, theres a table over there.. He stood up after getting another drink and made his way though the crowd towards the table, looking over his shoulder to see if lily was following.

Lily smiled slightly as he commented on her current state, which was getting more drunk every minute, and went to follow him as he moved toward a table across the room. She was moving slowly, trying not to spill her drink as people bumped into her. Or was she bumping into them? At the moment, she wasn't quite sure. Either way, she was still standing and could still focus fairly well.
