Deductive trotted around calmly with his head high, his trot was still as smooth as it was the day before, Listening carefully to Lily he made sure to do everything she asked correctly. As Lily spoke to him Deductive pricked his ears then shook his head, He easily accepted the bridle and walked over to the mounting block standing beside it while Lily got ready.

"Okay, easy there, sweetheart." She picked up her humming again, a soothing tune she hoped would keep him calm if he got scared. Placing her hands on the saddle, she leaned forward slightly, gradually putting more pressure on his back. He'd probably hardly notice even her entire weight, all one hundred and ten pounds. But she wasn't quite there yet. She wanted to go slowly, letting him get used to it.

Deductive flicked his ears back towards Lily then swished his tail, He felt slight weight on his back. Deductive shifted his weight chewing the bit franticly and bobbing his head, he continued with that but didn't move away from her.

"That's a good boy." Well, he was taking her weight pretty well, so she decided she'd go all the way. Stepping off the mounting block, she tightened his girth a couple of notches, hoping he wasn't puffing out. Then she stepped back onto the block and carefully swung her right leg over the saddle, slowly lowering her full bodyweight into the saddle. She purposely let her feet hang free in case he bolted. Lily really didn't want to fall off and be dragged or break an ankle.

Deductive threw his head up and shied to the side as he felt the girth get tightened, then stood beside the mounting block. Deductive jumped forward as Lily got on, he threw up his head and started doing little rears, moving forward at the same time.

Lily had been ready for him to do something, but she almost lost her seat when he jumped forward. The rears were easy to handle, though. She found her stirrups and grabbed the reins, tightening them just so that he could feel her tug on his mouth a bit. Lily wanted to get his attention and make him listen to her. "Easy, boy, easy. Settle down, you're fine. Easy there." She kept talking to him in a gentle voice, trying to sooth him as she kept her seat.

Deductive flicked his ears back towards Lily and stood still, he snorted and threw his head around continuously. Deductive, pawed the ground and cantered sideways, He wasn't sure what the weight was there for or what Lily was doing.

"Easy there, sweetheart." Then she got an idea. Maybe she was going about this the wrong way. He always seemed to respond when she scolded him. "Hey, knock it off." She tightened the reins just a bit and applied slight pressure to the side he was cantering toward. Lily tugged at the bit, small half-halts meant to make him stop throwing his head. After all, she'd always been taught he could fight a constant pull, but not a random tug.

Deductive Spun around and stood in place once Lily scolded him, He stopped throwing his head around when she started tugging at the reigns and chomped on the bit. Deductive walked forward briskly, taking awkward steps, he had long smooth strides even at a walk, looking around Deductive shied at a clump of dirt and snorted.

"There ya go, that's better." She patted his neck, loosening the reins a bit. Lily decided she'd let him walk for just a minute on his own. He wasn't doing too bad. At least he hadn't thrown her. Sitting down in her seat, she put slight constant pressure on the reins and said "Whoa." Deductive had to learn the commands while having a rider on his back. This could take a while, but she was optimistic. He was a fast learner.

Deductive relaxed while walking around, he pricked his ears and arched his neck, still chomping away at the bit, it annoyed him. Deductive tried to use his tongue to push the bit out of his mouth but something else was holding it there, he pulled the reigns as he jerked his head down to rub his head on his foreleg then continued walking with his head high. As he felt Lily pull on the reigns, Deductive stopped and reared, it wasn't big just a small half rear.

Lily hadn't been ready for the rear, but she managed to keep her seat. Any higher and she might not have. She reached forward and bumped her palm lightly on his poll. It was supposed to simulate him hitting his head on something, which was therefore supposed to make him stop rearing altogether. It didn't always happen that way, but she was hoping it might at least make him think twice about it.

Deductive felt something hit his hand and let his forefeet touch the ground again, He then looked around trying to find what it was that hit him, Spinning around, Deductive also looked there. With a confused snort he shook his head and turned his ears back to listen to Lily, the good thing about him was that he wanted to learn, which also made him a fast learner.

"There ya go. That's a good boy. Just listen to me and we'll both be just fine." She applied just a bit of pressure to the reins again, while simultaneously squeezing her legs lightly, trying to make him back up. Lily had to remember to take baby steps with him. It would be easier for him to grasp what she was asking of him.

Deductive bobbed his head a little when he heard Lily's voice, it wasn't scolding, which meant he'd done something good, he pawed the ground as she put pressure on his mouth. Deductive thought about what Lily wanted, She didn't want him to rear, or throw a tantrum, he'd learnt that before, and he was already at a halt. Deductive took little steps backward, not sure what was behind him, waiting to see if thats what Lily had wanted.
