With the coming of winter comes cold temperatures, and with it snow and ice. Snowblowers are being hauled out of garages nd ice skates are being sharpened. Wait, ice skates? Yes, that's what I said. Where is there a place to skate, you ask? The Shakon River, of course. There is an offshoot that turns into a large pond near the park that freezes over every winter. The ice is smooth and thick enough to support nearly the whole town. And the best part--it's free! So I hope to see you out there sometime, enjoying Jack Frost at his best. But don't dawdle, the pond melts in early Spring, so you only have this short season to enjoy it.
